As we bid farewell to 2022, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout the year. Despite the challenges we faced, the global economy and markets have recently shown the increaseing inflation cycle is coming to an end. This provides some optimism on what the future will bring all of us collectively. Beyond the financial aspect of our industry, the holiday season is an opportuntiy reflect and be thankful for the loved ones closest to us.
In keeping with our yearly tradition, we like to keep everyone updated on our endeavors and upcoming plans to better serve our clients.
Continuing to grow our staff capacity, in 2022 we welcomed Brett Brohman, Moreau Teixeira, Mariya Patel, and Victoria Faucher to our team!
New business growth, this year saw the largest growth in pension and benefits business to 64 different entities. Given the large increase and new partnerships with companies, we moved this business out of The Steele Group to a new business called Re-Group. Re-Group is located on the second floor of our office building.
Change in back office, our team made the decision to change to Assante Financial Management this August. Having transitioned over $300million of assets within a few months, we want to thank both our team and our clients for their patience throughout this process. The upgrade to the new back office has increased the ability of our team to better service clients growing needs in what continues to be a more complex financial world. In addition to increasing our service offerings, our clients have greater transparency and access to their personal investment accounts. We look forward to reviewing the enhanced options our clients have going forward.
Continuing education, this year Mark Wiesel obtained his (CFP) Certified Financial Planner designation, Patrick O’Rourke (QAFP) Qualified Associate Financial Planner designation, and Cintia Mota (CIFC) Canadian Investment Funds Course. Obtaining these courses and designations will ensure we continue to refresh our collective knowledge on complex financial plans.
Strong tradition of community involvement, 2022 brought on the largest amount of community involvement from The Steele Group. From sponsoring local community teams such as The Cambridge RedHawks, Rivulettes Junior Hockey, and Brantford Minor Hockey, to local community events like The Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest, Cambridge Santa Clause Parade, and The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to see our involvement grow and continue to give back locally to make a positive impact on our community.
Given the holiday theme, we wanted to once again congratulate the Santa Clause Parade winners. Elements Dance Arts (Best Overall Float), Southern Ontario Twirling Association (Best Band), Cindy DeCosta REMAX (Best Commercial), and Community Living Cambridge (Best Community).
